The unique private practice in Munich

The unique private practice in Munich

The only purely private dental practice in Munich

The perfect treatment of your teeth — this is the standard we guarantee in our practice every single day. For 130 years, we have lived this ethos, ensuring the longest possible preservation of your teeth and the most beautiful smile you have ever had.

LENTRODT | the dentists is a purely private practice. For good reason: This way, we are not subject to the restrictions of statutory health insurance and can offer you the best therapy options in modern dentistry.

This provides you with significant advantages over other dental practices:

  • You always receive optimal care

  • You can always get an appointment at very short notice

  • You never have to wait long with us

For private patients and self-payers, this offers significant advantages over statutory or mixed dental practices.

A long history with many highlights

A long history with many highlights

Court dentist Medical Officer Dr. med. dent. Hans Lentrodt opened the practice over 125 years ago. Licensed in 1893, Dr. Lentrodt cared for European nobility, many royal families, celebrities, and politicians — including the poet Rainer Maria Rilke. In 1895, he laid the foundation for today's dental practice in the heart of Munich.

His son, Professor Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Kurt W. Lentrodt, joined the dental practice in 1926. Throughout his life, he was an exceptionally dedicated doctor and dentist. For example, he was

  • Vice President of the German Society for Dental, Oral, and Maxillofacial Medicine

  • President and founding commissioner of the Rotary Club

  • Senior President of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Synod in Bavaria

and received

  • the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany

  • the Bavarian Order of Merit

  • and the medal “Munich Shines”

In 1962, he was awarded the Hermann Euler Medal of the German Society for Dental, Oral, and Maxillofacial Medicine for special merits.

Today, Dr. Michael J. and Dr. Markus F. O. Lentrodt, as the grandson and great-grandson of the practice founder, lead the dental practice and ensure that the philosophy of always putting the patient at the center continues into the future.

The dental practice today: state-of-the-art

The digital dental practice

The digitization of our everyday lives is progressing steadily, and it has, of course, long since reached our dental practice. We converted our rooms into a fully "digital practice" years ago. In doing so, we embraced one of the most important future trends for dentists early on and have since been able to use it to the advantage of our patients.

Digitization encompasses far more than just the scheduling and data management of our patients as well as the workflow of our practice management. All eight treatment rooms are networked with the latest fiber optic technology. Intraoral cameras at every station provide a precise view of our patients' oral situation.

Integrated into this network of state-of-the-art technology is also our digital volume tomograph (DVT), whose ultra-precise 3D imaging enables a whole new level of diagnostics. Diagnoses can thus be made not only faster but also more reliably.

Computer-guided, minimally invasive implantology without a scalpel is no longer a vision of the future in our digital dental practice but daily reality.

Hygiene in the dental practice — an important topic

Our patients know and appreciate the spacious rooms of our dental practice in Schwabing. However, there is one room they do not know: the sterilization room. Practically "behind the scenes," all dental instruments that are not used as disposable items are processed there. In the "steri," instruments are cleaned and disinfected, sterilized, and packaged. All hygiene and infection control measures are important components of the certified quality management of our dental practice. They strictly follow the requirements of the Infection Protection Act, the Medical Devices Act, the Medical Devices Operator Ordinance, and the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute.

Because practice hygiene is such an important topic, our dental assistants receive intensive training during their three-year apprenticeship. In addition to theoretical knowledge about infection control, all work processes are practiced according to the exact specifications of a hygiene plan. This includes not only the many dental instruments but also topics such as hygienic and even more elaborate surgical hand disinfection as well as the cleaning and disinfection of objects, surfaces, and devices in the treatment rooms.

To keep our practice team's knowledge of complex workflows up to date, we regularly conduct internal and external training sessions even after the apprenticeship. This is especially true when new work tools, devices, or procedures are introduced, as well as for newly hired employees.

The effort to protect patients and practice staff is significant. Accordingly, the hygiene precautions are personnel-, equipment-, and cost-intensive. Interesting figures were determined by the scientific experts of the Institute of German Dentists in Cologne: According to a representative analysis, a single practice invests an average of 55,000 euros annually in ongoing hygiene measures. Of this, around 32,000 euros are spent on material costs and 23,000 euros on personnel costs. In group practices, the amount is around 70,000 euros. This is a lot of money, no question. But it shows the sustainably high importance of practice hygiene for us.
